Aiwang (Late-Love) Pavilion sits in the Qingfeng Gorge of Yuelu Mountain, Changsha, Hunan. Built in 1792 by Luo Dian, head of the Yuelu Academy, and first named Red Leaves Pavilion, it was renamed for Du Mu's line - I stop my carriage for the maple leaves of evening. Its double-eaved pyramidal roof of glazed green tiles rests on eight columns, with the plaque in Mao Zedong's hand. Ringed by maples that flame each autumn, it ranks among China's four famous pavilions.
