The Zuiweng (Old Drunkard) Pavilion lies at the foot of Langya Mountain in Chuzhou, Anhui. Built in 1046 by the monk Zhixian, it became immortal when Ouyang Xiu - the Old Drunkard himself, then prefect of Chuzhou - wrote his famous essay here: the drinker's heart lies not in the wine but amid hills and streams. Restored in the Qing with a gable-and-hip roof and flying eaves, and honoured by the Two Worthies Hall beside it, it heads the four famous pavilions of China.
