The Villa Savoye at Poissy, France, was designed by Le Corbusier for the Savoye family between 1928 and 1931 - the manifesto of modern architecture. The white box stands on slender pilotis that free the ground, demonstrating all five points of a new architecture: roof garden, free plan, ribbon windows and the ramp that spirals through three levels in a single promenade. In 2016 the villa joined the World Heritage List among seventeen works of Le Corbusier.
