Robie House in Chicago's Hyde Park was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright from 1908 to 1910, the masterpiece of the Prairie School. Long cantilevered eaves and brick bands press the house to the land, bands of art glass wrap the corners, and the chimney mass pierces the two storeys - breaking the conventional house type and influencing a century of modern homes. In 2019 it joined the World Heritage List among Wright's twentieth-century works.
