The corner store is among the most familiar building types of nineteenth- and twentieth-century city blocks. Occupying a street intersection, it is usually two storeys: large shop windows and a chamfered entrance below, living space above, with the corner resolved by a curve, a turret or a gable that anchors the streetscape. Stitching commerce, dwelling and city views together, it is a key node in traditional street fabric. WANGE recreates its shopfronts, awnings and pitched roof brick by brick.
